Account deletion

Delete your Djanggi account.

You can delete your account and your personal data at any time, directly in the app. This page explains how to do it, what is deleted and what is kept.

  • App: Djanggi
  • Deletion from the app
  • Email reply within 30 days
  • GDPR compliant

How to delete your account

The simplest way is to delete your account yourself in the Djanggi app: deletion is immediate.

  1. Open Djanggi, then the Profile tab and “Account & security”.
  2. At the very bottom, in the “Danger zone”, tap “Delete my account”.
  3. Enter your password, confirm with Face ID, fingerprint or your phone code, then confirm the final alert.

No longer have the app, or cannot sign in any more? Request deletion by email, from the address associated with your account.

  1. Send an email to contact@tryagain.be with the subject “Account deletion”.
  2. Write from the email address of your Djanggi account (or state the associated phone number) so that we can verify your identity.
  3. We confirm receipt, verify your identity, then carry out the deletion. You receive a final confirmation once the operation is complete.

Deletion is permanent. Two cases delay it: if you chair a group, first hand the chair over to another member (or delete the group if you are alone); if your group's cycle is running, wait for its closing (end-of-cycle settlement). The app tells you before asking for your password.

What is deleted

Once the request has been processed, we delete the personal data linked to your account:

  • Your profile: surname, first name, photo, phone number and email address.
  • Your login credentials and your active sessions on all devices.
  • Your preferences, settings and notification tokens.
  • Your attachments: transfer screenshots and supporting documents sent to the committee.

What is kept, and for how long

A tontine is a set of collective accounts: some entries cannot disappear without distorting the other members' accounts.

  • Financial entries of the tontine (contributions, loans, fines, deposits): kept so that the other members' accounts stay correct, but attached to a “Former member”, without your name, email or phone number, as soon as the deletion takes place.
  • Data required by law (accounting and legal obligations): kept for the applicable statutory period, then deleted.

Details of our retention periods are set out in our privacy policy (section “How long we keep it”).

Timeframes

From the app, deletion is immediate. By email, we acknowledge receipt of your request and reply within 30 days at the latest, in accordance with the GDPR; deletion takes place as soon as your identity has been verified, subject to the retention described above.

You can also request an export of your data before deletion. Simply mention it in your email.
