Your data, looked after like your savings.
Djanggi handles your group's money and trust. This page explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why, and the control you keep over it.

- GDPR compliant
We sell nothing
Your personal and financial data is never sold or rented to third parties. Ever.
Only what is needed
We collect only what makes the tontine work: contributions, meetings, loans.
You decide
Access, correction, export or deletion of your data: it all takes a single message.
Who we are
Djanggi is an app that helps tontine groups (njangui, ndjangui, likelemba…) organise their meetings, track contributions and manage the solidarity bank.
The controller of your data is TryAgain. For any question about this policy, you can write to us at the address given in the Contact section.
Data we collect
We collect only the information needed to run your tontine.
- Identity
- Surname, first name, profile photo, phone number and email address.
- Tontine activity
- Contributions, attendance at meetings, fines, deposits into the bank, loans and repayments.
- Payment
- Transaction references (mobile money, bank transfer). We never store your secret codes or your full bank details.
- Technical
- Device type, app version and error logs, to keep the service reliable.
We do not collect any sensitive data (health, opinions, religion) and we do not use your location.
How we use your data
- Running the tontine: calculating contributions, drawing the payout, tracking attendance and the bank.
- Keeping you informed: meeting reminders, loan approvals, receipts and statements.
- Securing accounts: detecting fraudulent access and protecting the group's money.
- Improving the app: understanding usage in aggregate form in order to fix bugs.
You can adjust reminders and notifications at any time in the app settings.
On what legal basis
We process your data on the following grounds:
- Performance of the service you ask us to provide (managing your tontine).
- Your consent for optional notifications.
- Our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in securing the service.
Financial data & group life
A tontine relies on transparency between members. Here is who sees what:
- The members of your tontine see your name, your attendance and the status of your contributions, just as at an in-person meeting.
- The committee (admins) has access to the financial details needed for management: bank, loans, fines.
- Your data is never shared with other tontines or with members outside your group.
Members' access to the overall financial summary can be switched on or off by the committee, in the tontine settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. After the account is closed, data linked to a tontine is kept for the time needed to close the cycle (end-of-cycle settlement) and to meet accounting and legal obligations, then deleted or anonymised.
How we protect it
The security of the group's money is our priority:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
- Access restricted to authorised persons only, with traceability.
- Regular backups and continuous monitoring for suspicious access.
Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights at any time:
- Access
- Obtain a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Erasure
- Request the deletion of your data, subject to our legal obligations.
- Portability
- Retrieve your data in a reusable format (export).
- Objection & withdrawal
- Object to a processing operation or withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise a right, write to us (Contact section). We reply within 30 days. You can also refer the matter to the competent data protection authority.
Minors
Djanggi is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about minors. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us so that it can be deleted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. In the event of a significant change, we will notify you in the app or by email. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
